The much anticipated final GP of this Sunshine Tour where 60 riders qualified was truly a technical and difficult course in the CSI-4* GP which took place on 23 March. Gregory saved Carlson throughout the weekend for this occasion. In the first round, Carlson had a very nice trip with on unfortunate rail at the second to last fence but only 5 horse/rider combinations jumped clear so almost all the 4 faulters returned in the second round against the clock so as to meet the 25% requirement of second rounds. Carlson accomplished a superb clear round and finished with the 2nd fastest time of this second round. This great round allowed him to finish 7th overall in this difficult invitational GP.
It was a nice way for our pair to finish this tournament on top of 2 2nd place finishes in the 1.50m classes and a 3rd place in the CSI-2* GP the first week.
