It was a tough battle to be among the 30 qualifiers for this Olympic final. Even more so with 4 faults, despite Bond's superb performance, which secured our ticket to the final with a very good time. The final was opening up to us and all our dreams were permitted.
Admittedly, we came out of the final with two small mistakes, which are costly at this level. But this technical and delicate final was truly Olympic level. The three clear rounds are the best proof of that. I felt I was closer to 4 points than 8, but this result sees us slip back in the rankings to 15th place in the final, which in no way detracts from Hay's Bond Jamesbond performance. Bond's first Olympic experience is coming to an end and as we look back, we can only conclude that he really had what it takes to be one of the best horses in the world.
I'd like to thank all those around me, at the stables and here in Versailles, who have helped Bond to tackle these Olympic Games in the best possible conditions.
I would also like to thank you all for your unconditional support, which always brings us to such events. See you at future championships with Bond.
