The 2017 edition of the Liège Show Jumping was a great success for Gregory with as only bémol the 8 points in the GO.
This long awaited meeting was going to be a great show. Gregory was once again one of the key actors with a thunderous start on Thursday with 2 classes and already two 2nd places. One with Sandero in the 1m40 opening class and the other with MJT Nevados in the 1m45 big class of the day.
It was only a start because on Friday Gregory immediately won his first class of the day, again with Sandero. Then later in the day it was Eldorado’s turn to come in with once again a great show but unfortunately a small fault in the jump off that deprived them of the victory in this small GP.
Saturday, new day, new emotions. First of all the 7 year olds GP where he was present with the very talented Ace of Heart who finished the GP with a double clear round but without having played the time. Thereafter, Sandero confirmed his great form by a new victory in the 1m40 jump off class. In the evening it was MJT Nevados’ turn to jump for victory, but it was without counting on a small fault on the last jump that penalized him with 4 points and deprived him of victory. It was only a postponement as MJT Nevados was already winning a beautiful 2nd place the next morning in the 1m45 class.
2 victories, 3 second places and best Belgian rider of the event, this 2017 edition of the Liège Show Jumping was simply a very great success for Gregory. We can’t wait for 2018...
