After a very good start on Thursday for team Belgium, placing them at the top of the class after qualification, the team of four had slipped back in placing before the big final with four faults from Olivier, a magnificent clear from Judy, and 8 faults from Jos. All this was punctuated by a magnificent clear round by Gregory. This carried the total score for the Belgian team to four faults and allowed Belgium to brilliantly capture this final without having to jump-off.
After scoring first overall during the entire season based on placings in Nation’s Cups, Belgium was able to confirm its status with this victory in the final where all the nations were reunited.
Special mention goes to Judy Ann and her Cold as Ice Z for her nearly clear performance (1 + 0) and to Gregory for having been the only double clear participant in this prestigious final… and thus availing him to the entire bonus provided to riders who jumped double clear.
